My Boy... My sleepless, stubborn, yet oh so sweet little boy.

Oh Alex Jr... You are really giving mama a run for her money. You are consistently waking every 1-2 hours at night & I am just plain exhausted. Tonight we started cry it out. It makes me so sad to hear you cry but I have no idea how else to help you. We both need our rest and the way things are going we are not getting it. I love you so very much, I just need you to always know that! Besides that you are getting so big! You are quite the foodie. You will pretty much devour anything I put to your mouth. You love prunes, pears, sweet potatoes, squash, bananas, & avocados (as long as I mix them into something else). Bananas are your fave but they unfortunately constipate you so you can only have them every once in awhile. You are almost fully sitting on your own. You will now sit for about 1 minute before tumbling over. It is so amazing watching you learn new things.

love love love,
mama.♥

Tongue & Lip Tie Revision: Portland, OR

Before & After Revision
Well Daddy, you, & me took a trip all the way to Portland Oregon to have your tongue and lip tie revised. It was such a long drive and you absolutely HATED being in the car seat for almost 3 whole days (there & back). You did so well though! They took you away from us for the procedure for only about 5 minutes and you were very upset when you came back but you were smiling before we even left the clinic. You then fell asleep the moment we started driving. I was a nervous wreck the whole week leading up to the procedure, but it was really no big deal at all. Dr. Ghaheri was great. He explained everything to us and was very kind (he even said you seemed like an awesome kid). Your nursing still needs work, but it is definitely getting better! You didn't seem to be in pain at all after the procedure and you never refused to nurse, which I was quite worried about. We even went to do some sight seeing at Multnomah Falls after you napped. It was absolutely beautiful & of course you just LOVED the nature! Although the trip was grueling and long, I am so happy the procedure is done & you are doing so well!|

Update (7/26/13): Well we are about 2 months post revision now. Your nursing is sooo much better despite some minor reattachment! It isn't always perfect but the improvement is definitely dramatic. You are still a lazy latcher when you are sleepy, but it is bearable. You have started solids and you do not gag or choke at all, even when you are fed chunks of fruits or veggies. You are now able to take a bottle and even a sippy cup but you have no interest in the paci, which is completely fine with me. You are just now getting your first two bottom teeth so I would imagine those top ones are close behind. I'm looking forward to seeing how they come in. I am so glad we had this procedure done. It was worth the long drive and I think if you could talk, you would definitely agree! :)

Fast asleep after your procedure

5 Months Old!

Baby boy, you are growing faster than I can keep up with! 5 months already! I can hardly believe it! You are such a joy of a child. You are learning to sit on your own and can even sit unassisted for about 10 seconds! You are chatty chatty and love to be talked to! You light up the room wherever you go and people can't help but smile and talk to you. You have the biggest, brightest, most beautiful smile! Your sleeping still pretty much sucks but I'm learning to function on next to no sleep. You started solids on your 5 month birthday. You tried avocados and weren't a very big fan, so we tried bananas instead and you LOVED them. Unfortunately they made you pretty constipated so we recently moved onto prunes. Hmm, what else? You are just developing the most awesome personality. You're fun, active, and oh so sweet. You love being outside. If you're fussy or grumpy, a little sit on the steps is enough to make you happy again! I just love you so very much, son & so does everyone else. You're growing up is becoming so bittersweet. I look forward to your next milestone but also want you to stay my little baby. Oh, you are also teething STILL! I can see the outline of your two bottom teeth but they just don't want to come through. Anyway, I love you so very much!!

Love, love love,
Mama.♥
